A Washington man saved a grandmother and her granddaughter from a violent individual armed with a metal baton by fatally shooting him, police said.
Everett Police said officers responded to the scene on May 11 around 3:30 p.m. regarding an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers found one man in his early 30s with gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
During the investigation, authorities discovered the deceased male had been walking his dog when he became “aggressive towards people walking on the sidewalk around Silver Lake,” especially toward a grandmother and her young granddaughter. Several nearby men attempted to intervene but were “pepper-sprayed and struck with a metal baton,” police said.
However, one man carried a pistol and shot the aggressor twice, according to authorities.
Police said the shooter was detained and has complied with the investigation, with several other witnesses cooperating, too. The shooter has not been charged as the investigation remains ongoing, Fox News reported.
The Daily Caller has reached out to the Everett Police Department but has not received a response at the time of publication.
