Students at a secondary school have been told to “hold in” their periods during lessons, a mum has claimed.
Toilet doors at the All Saints Academy in Wyke Regis, Weymouth have also been removed, the concerned parent said.
The mum-of-two says that some students are required to provide a doctor’s note if they wish to use the loo during class.
“I was horrified,” the 49-year-old told Sun Online.

“My daughter said ‘what about us girls when we have our period, if we have an accident and we need to get to the taps, not only have we got teachers walking past and students, but any visitors to the school’.
“She said ‘we don’t feel comfortable going to the bathroom’. She said ‘it’s not school anymore mum, it feels like prison’.”
The mum has claimed that pupils are now required to show doctor’s notes during lessons if they want to use the toilet.
She also said that her daughter and her friends were once told by a teacher to “hold in” their periods.
All Saints Academy said that all toilet cubicles had full height doors and that the changes came as part of a drive to improve facilities.
Principal John Cornish said that the only area that was visible through the toilet door was the hand washing area.
He said that pupils are encouraged to visit the toilet during lunch and break times to get them to practice good comfort break habits.
Those with medical conditions who have a toilet card can go during lessons while those who are caught short may head to the bathrooms if “absolutely necessary”, he added.
