Harrowing video shows gang members with automatic weapons open fire on rivals in Florida neighborhood

Harrowing video captured the moment gang members with automatic weapons opened fire in a south Florida neighborhood in what police say was a targeted attack that left locals ducking for cover in the middle of the night.

Footage from a neighbor’s security camera shows a group with weapons standing on a residential street in Miami Garden just after midnight Wednesday beginning to shoot as a silver Nissan approaches.

Neighbors said they heard at least 50 rounds from high-powered weapons. The brazen shooting eventually forced the driver off the road, plowing down a fence in a neighbor’s front yard, according to NBC 6.

Video also shows three people stumbling out of the targeted car making a mad dash away from the scene.

As gunfire rattled through the neighborhood, residents scrambled to take cover inside their homes — some of which were left riddled with bullet holes.

“Around midnight, ‘bam,’ I start seeing a whole lot of, you know, really loud automatic weapons firing,” witness Louis Rivera told WSVN.

“I run to the hallway and tell my wife, ‘hit the floor,’ because they are outside shooting at each other,” he said.

His six-year-old daughter then hid with her mother, Rivera said.

“I was scared, I was shaking, I was nervous,” his daughter told the station.

Fortunately, the family said, their child was sleeping at the time of the shooting.

Ring camera footage reviewed by the station shows Rivera’s fence was knocked over as the victims tried to flee the car.

“One of them tried to jump that fence over there, but I guess he got scared of my big dog that I got back there,” Rivera said.

The suspected gunmen can be seen running to another vehicle and taking off.

Other neighbors’ homes and cars were also struck by bullets, including one resident whose car was unable to start because of the damage Thursday morning.

Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma K. Noel-Pratt said Friday at least one person inside the car exchanged gunfire with the gunmen outside, who were waiting for the vehicle to arrive.

There have been no arrests and no reported injuries, Noel-Pratt added.

Police said the people inside the Nissan are victims but have not been cooperative with authorities.

Despite the lack of cooperation, Noel-Pratt insisted residents should not be afraid.

“I would like the public to know that they should not be in fear, because as you can tell, it was a targeted shooting,” Noel-Pratt said.
