Officers found a senior citizen lying on the tracks and were given a description of the man who attacked him.

A Blue Line train operator had spotted the victim on the tracks and was able to stop the train before hitting him. Police said the victim narrowly avoided coming into contact with the electrified third rail powering trains.

The victim was taken to Loyola University Medical Center for treatment.

Last month, a black man with 49 prior arrests doused a white woman with a flammable liquid and set her on fire on a Chicago train.

50-year-old Lawrence Reed was hit with federal terrorism charges after he set a 26-year-old woman on fire aboard the Blue Line last month.

Reed repeatedly shouted, “Burn b*tch!” as the victim rolled around trying to put out the fire.

Good Samaritans eventually helped put out the fire.

The victim was hospitalized with severe injuries.
