Shooting erupts at California-Mexico border crossing

SAN DIEGO — A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent has been involved in a shooting at California’s border with Mexico but there’s no word on whether anyone was injured.

San Diego police say the shooting took place Monday night in a secondary vehicle inspection area near the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

All lanes of the busy crossing were briefly closed.

KNSD-TV says it obtained video of the incident showing gunfire erupting as cars wait in line to get into the U.S. Border Patrol agents are heard yelling “Get down, everybody get down!” At least a dozen shots can be heard.
