NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A subway rider had to be hospitalized after he was beaten and “twisted” by a group of people in a brutal knifepoint robbery in Brooklyn, police said Thursday as they released images of seven suspects.
The 43-year-old victim was exiting a northbound M train at the Myrtle–Wyckoff Avenues station in Bushwick on the morning of July 8 when he was approached by the group at 4:20 a.m.
They knocked him to the floor of the platform and put a knife to his wrist while punching and kicking him repeatedly, according to police.
They also “twisted” his left leg, causing a serious injury, cops said.
They ultimately stole $100 from him and fled the area on foot.
The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.
