There will likely be a terrorist attack in the United States from someone who illegally entered the country, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis warned Saturday.
”There’s going to be a terrorist attack in this country that we’re going to be able to trace to somebody coming across the border,” said DeSantis during a Sin City breakfast confab sponsored by Never Back Down, a SuperPAC backing his presidential campaign.
“Things like terrorism are still very real. It’s even realer when you have an open border that almost eight million people have come across,” he continued. “Do you not think our enemies are exploring that border.”

“You have people like AOC and the left wingers that want the United States to bring in hundreds of thousands of refugees from the Gaza strip. I have said we will bringing zero from the Gaza strip to the United States,” DeSantis said.
Some on the left, such as Rep. Jamaal Bowman have said that most in Gaza were good people and that America could “vet” migrants to make sure Hamas members were kept out, DeSantis expressed skepticism.
“They elected Hamas in Gaza,” he noted. “A lot of them were cheering in the streets when the attacks happened. They weren’t Hams members, they were just normal people, and I remember from 9/11 in 2001, Palestinian Arabs cheering when the twin towers were brought down. That was the worst terrorist attack we ever had any they were out celebrating.”
DeSantis remained mired in second place in the 2024 GOP presidential primary as former President Trump continues to dominate polls heading into November, consistently leading the Florida governor by double-digits.
