An avowed socialist, pro-Palestine, America-hating Muslim who became an American citizen the year The Incredibles 2 was released is now a whisker away from becoming the mayor of New York City.
Is this our vibrant democracy working as intended? Or is our democracy being gamed by people who have found loophole after loophole and are slowly, doggedly stitching up the country like a burlap sack with us in it?
I keep hearing the haunting line from No Country For Old Men in my head: “If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?”

He’s a basic Marxist in trendy intersectional clothes; a male AOC with less baggage. He’s interested in the same goal commies have been screeching about for decades: the complete and utter overthrow of the evil capitalist American system and the conquest of settled land they seem to think was unjustly stolen from their allies.
The right is appropriately horrified. Panicked, even. How could this happen? Was it his friendly and harmless smile? Was it his viral TikTok campaigns? Can current mayor Eric Adams (now the sane choice) stop him? Why do white idiot leftists keep voting for their own demise? Are they dumb, evil, or brainwashed by college professors? And what does it mean for the country?
What it means is this: the exact same corrupt, cynical system that hands priceless American citizenships to foreigners like Mamdani — an anti-white racist who hates his new country — has also produced millions of native born Americans who think he’s correct in his withering assessment of their own homeland. If they’re white, they also think they’re part of the problem, and voting for someone like Mamdani offers them a simple way out of their uncomfortable predicament of being a “privileged white” in 2025.

No one can afford life in New York City under the permanent rule of establishment Democrat governors, mayors, and city councils. So young voters who hate Republicans and would never vote for a conservative, naturally, want to try the guy promising to lower the cost of living. They never put it together that the liberals they’ve been electing for years largely caused the cost-of-living crisis with sky-high taxes, “sustainable” energy, and more. But they have figured out that boring old Dems like leathery Andrew Cuomo are not ever going to deliver anything they can use.
There is only one place for them to run after rejecting “both sides,” and it is right into the warm embrace of a fresh-faced communist vowing to take money from rich white people and give it to them. They have no idea of the horrors that lay in store for a society who pursues this ideology to its end point.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK – JUNE 24: New York mayoral candidate, State Rep. Zohran Mamdani (D-NY) speaks to supporters during an election night gathering at The Greats of Craft LIC on June 24, 2025 in the Long Island City neighborhood of the Queens borough in New York City. Mamdani was announced as the winner of the Democratic nomination for mayor in a crowded field in the City’s mayoral primary to choose a successor to Mayor Eric Adams, who is running for re-election on an independent ticket. News flash: it’s always been an incredibly expensive place to live. New York City is famously one of the most insanely expensive places in the world to live. I lived there and I never would now. Say what you will about California but I enjoy not living in a one-bedroom 430 square foot walk-up.
Why does he even matter to anyone outside the city? Because it doesn’t matter if Mamdani does indeed become mayor, if he fails miserably, if prices keep rising, if crime gets worse, and if people eventually realize they made a terrible mistake. Doesn’t matter. The political earthquake has already struck and shattered the status quo, because he is brown and won an election against a famous politician. The last person to do that was Barack Obama in 2008. His campaign is now the model moving forward for democrats desperate to start winning again. As I type this, they are actively scouring the ranks of local and state politicians and aldermen and school boards looking for the unicorn they think they need: a Zohran Mamdani who was born here, so he or she can run for president in a cycle or two.

In other words, New York City has chosen the form of our eventual destructor, and it’s not the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man; it’s something far more threatening and much less sweet.
