Iran issues ‘death fatwa’ against Donald Trump with two chilling ‘punishments’

Iran has issued a scathing fatwa, denouncing Donald Trump as an “enemy of God” and urging Muslims to make him “regret his actions,” sparking concerns of potential further attempts on the US President’s life. The religious ruling was made by Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, Iran’s top cleric.

The fatwa, also targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was announced in the Tehran Times. In a written statement, Ayatollah Shirazi proclaimed: “Any regime or individual threatening the leaders of the Islamic Ummah and acting on those threats qualifies as a Muharib.”Trump asserted that the strikes “obliterated” their targets and delivered a major blow to Iran’s nuclear aspirations.

Yet, an initial assessment from U.S. intelligence indicated that the assault merely delayed Iran’s nuclear activities by a matter of months.

Adding to the administration’s setbacks, intercepted Iranian communications revealed officials commenting that the attacks were not as damaging as anticipated.

At the same time, President Trump rejected claims that his administration was engaged in any negotiations with Iran regarding the release of up to US$30 billion to aid its civilian nuclear energy efforts.

“I’m not talking to Iran. We’re not offering them anything,” the President firmly stated on Monday.
