Trump official Stephen Miller urges red state governors to emulate Florida’s ‘Alligator Alcatraz’

OCHOPEE, Fla. – White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller issued a direct appeal to Republican governors across the nation, urging them to follow Florida’s lead in building immigration detention facilities to support federal mass deportation efforts.

“Every governor of a red state, if you are watching tonight: pick up the phone, call DHS, work with us to build facilities in YOUR state so we can get the illegals and criminals out,” Miller said.

During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Gov. Ron DeSantis also called on red states to follow Florida’s lead.

“All the red states, at a minimum, need to step up and do this,” DeSantis said. “If all red states are doing what Florida is doing, even if it’s at a smaller scale, because they may be smaller, you’re going to see massive numbers for the deportations, and Biden let in how many millions of people, we need these types of solutions if we want to get the job done.”

“So literally, you’ll have an illegal, you’ll be able to have them have whatever due process right there at Alligator Alcatraz, and then guess what? 1,000 feet away, there’s a massive runway where DHS can then fly them back to their home country.”

DeSantis also said a second, similar facility in northeastern Florida— located at the Camp Blanding National Guard training center— will be built.
