Mar-a-Lago Raid Was About Russia Probe Docs, Not Classified Files, Claims Devin Nunes

The Biden administration’s raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate wasn’t about classified files, according to Devin Nunes, chair of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.

During an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Nunes said newly declassified documents point to the possibility that the FBI raid in 2022 was about recovering materials tied to the now-discredited Trump-Russia investigation.

However, Nunes said that intelligence tied to the 2016 election may have been the real target.

“Whatever they were looking for, they clearly couldn’t find,” Nunes said.

“They were trying to stop President Trump from being reelected.”

Nunes highlighted the declassification of a 45-page report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

“We went through every single piece of intelligence that existed,” Nunes stated.

“If anything, it was clear that if Putin was going to do anything, he probably wanted Hillary Clinton to win.”

Nunes claims the report undermines the foundational argument behind Crossfire Hurricane and is now being declassified and made available to the public.

“As chairman of the president’s intelligence board, I’m going to try to get out as much of this information as possible and get it declassified,” he said.

Bartiromo asked Nunes whether he believed the FBI was searching for this particular document during the raid on Trump’s home, to which Nunes responded, “It had to be one of the things they were looking for. That report is damning if people take the time to read it.”

“The Department of Justice has just returned the boxes that Deranged Jack Smith made such a big deal about,” Trump wrote.

“They are being brought down to Florida and will someday be part of the Trump Presidential Library. Justice finally won out.”

The DOJ defended the search warrant at the time.

The Biden White House denied any prior knowledge of the decision to approve the Mar-a-Lago raid.

Nunes emphasized that the return of the documents and the release of the ODNI report hint at a broader pattern of intelligence suppression and political targeting.

“There’s a lot more to do with this,” Nunes said.
