During the recent operation, agents conducted a vehicle stop. The driver, identified as the illegal alien, allegedly attempted to flee, causing damage to two government vehicles and injuring a federal officer. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
The incident was cited by officials as a prime example of how certain policies, such as those in “sanctuary cities,” can allegedly hinder federal immigration enforcement and allow criminal aliens to remain in communities, posing a risk to public safety.
