California Rep. Dave Min has not deleted a social media post claiming Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin was part of the “MAGA” movement, even as reports indicate the suspect leaned left politically.
“Now that the Charlie Kirk assassin has been identified as MAGA, I’m sure Donald Trump, Elon Musk and all the insane GOP politicians who called for retribution against the ‘RADICAL LEFT’ will now shift their focus to stopping the toxic violence of the RADICAL RIGHT,” Min wrote on X, Sept. 13.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said investigators learned from the alleged assassin Tyler Robinson’s relatives that he viewed Kirk as “full of hate and spreading hate.” Police recovered ammunition etched with phrases such as “Hey, fascist! Catch!” along with unfired casings inscribed with lyrics from Bella Ciao, an anti-fascist anthem.

Min’s reference to drinking ties back to a 2023 arrest. At the time, Min, then a California state senator, was cited for driving under the influence while operating a state-owned vehicle near the Capitol in Sacramento, according to the Los Angeles Times. Min apologized at the time, calling his decision “irresponsible.”
Min has not publicly addressed the criticism surrounding his X post about Kirk’s alleged assassin.
