The Mexican president’s reaction comes as Trump told reporters during an Oval Office press conference Monday that strikes against drug cartels inside Mexico were on the table.

The president’s latest remarks on combatting drug cartels come as he has been criticized by the leftist establishment and members of his own party for carrying out multiple covert drone strikes on cartel drug boats transporting narcotics to the US.
Meanwhile, President Sheinbaum faced protests over the weekend for failing to tamp down cartel crime following the murder of a mayor of a Mexican town who was outspoken against cartel violence, with demonstrators attacking her ethnicity by spray-painting “Puta Judia” or “Jewish whore” on the Mexican Supreme Court near her residence, the National Palace.
