Donald Trump Accuses Nordstrom of ‘Unfair’ Treatment for Dropping Ivanka Trump Products

Donald Trump has accused Nordstrom, the upscale department store, of treating his daughter “so unfairly” by pulling Ivanka Trump brand products off the shelves.

The president slammed the store on Twitter, describing his daughter as a “great person” who was “always pushing me to do the right thing” and did not deserve to see her business suffer.

Ms Trump’s fashion line includes clothing, jewellery, handbags and other products. Nordstrom’s decision to drop the line came amid the “#GrabYourWallet” boycott of Trump-branded products.

Nordstrom has denied the move was motivated by anything other than poor sales.

“We’ve said all along we make buying decisions based on performance,” the company said last week in a statement. “We’ve got thousands of brands, more than 2,000 offered on the site alone. Reviewing their merit and making edits is part of the regular rhythm of our business.”

But the announcement came just three days after the company issued an internal memo in support of any employees affected by Mr Trump’s executive order on refugees and immigration, leading to speculation that Nordstrom could have been influenced by opposition to Mr Trump’s policies.
