Maybe they’ll call him “Slander Me Elmo.”
Just when you thought CNN had completely taken leave of its senses and ethics, they’re now using Elmo, the popular children’s puppet from “Sesame Street,” as a propaganda tool to attack President Donald Trump.
On Monday, Elmo, the red Muppet from the children’s show, was part of a panel discussing Trump’s temporary travel ban—and CNN used the puppet to attack the ban:
“Did you find that the Syrian little girls and little boys were a lot like your friends here in America?” CNN pundit Clarissa Ward asked Elmo.
“Yeah, they really were,” said Elmo. “It was very interesting because they like to play and learn just like Elmo and all of his friends at Sesame Street.”
“It was a really great time,” Elmo added.
Following a number of setbacks in lower courts, the temporary travel ban—which Trump said he put into place only until he could be confident that U.S. could sufficiently vet refugees—got a big victory when the Supreme Court overturned the injunction on the travel ban in a 9-0 decision. The Court will rule on whether or not the ban can continue indefinitely after hearing the case later this year.
