A Florida college student accused of rape confessed to the victim that he “just really wanted to have sex,” according to a disturbing new report.
University of Central Florida student Jaime Polanco, 21, was arrested Friday after he apologized for raping the victim in a recorded phone call, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
“I guess I just really wanted to have sex,” Polanco told the victim. “I do remember having sex and I do remember you saying no.”
Polanco allegedly was watching a basketball game June 10 at his on-campus apartment when he took off the victim’s shorts, authorities said.
The victim reportedly rejected his advances and tried to kick Polanco, but he proceeded to force himself on them.
Police said the victim notified authorities about the alleged assault last week after Polanco showed up at their door.
Authorities said the victim agreed to confront Polanco in a recorded phone call in which he confessed to the incident.
“I can’t justify it at all. What I did was terrible,” he said.
Polanco was brought to Orange County Jail, where he’s being held on a $10,000 bond.
