President Donald Trump described Maryland Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings’s Baltimore district as a place where “no human being would want to live,” as a “very dangerous & filthy place” and as a “rat and rodent infested mess.”
The President’s characterization sparked energetic media backlash coming to the defense of Baltimore and condemning the President as racist.
The Daily Caller News Foundation went to Baltimore and surveyed the city to see if the president’s description was correct and accurate.
The streets of Baltimore sure enough appeared just as Trump said: crumbling, dirty and downtrodden.
