Thousands Sign Petition To Block Paris Jackson Film In Which She Plays Female Version Of Jesus

A petition to block an upcoming indie flick in which Paris Jackson plays a female version of Jesus has picked up more than 275,000 signatures. Yes, you did read that correctly.

Habit will see Jackson take on a gender-switched version of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (to use his full name) alongside Bella Thorne and Josie Ho, plus musicians Gavin Rossdale (of Bush), and Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince (of The Kills).

Producer Donovan Leitch told Entertainment Weekly that Thorne will play a street-smart girl with a Jesus fetish who masquerades as a nun while trying to escape the consequences of a violent drug deal‘.

The movie will also have a ‘rocking soundtrack’, according to the producer.

He told the news outlet: “Yes, we intentionally stacked the film with rock stars and will have a very rocking soundtrack.”

Speaking to Fox News, he said the movie was ‘inspired by early Tarantino’ – not the first name you think of when you think ‘Holy’, is it?

The movie wrapped prior to the coronavirus, and is currently in post-production, but there’s plenty of angry folk hoping it will never see the light of day.

An online petition directed at Warner Bros. and Lionsgate, with the title ‘Prevent the distribution of the film Habit‘, has racked up 275,000 signatures, while a second petition from One Million Moms has around 70,000 signatures.

The change.org petition claims that Jackson will portray Jesus as ‘a lesbian woman’, but the movie’s promotional materials don’t mention the character’s sexuality.

The petition reads: “A new blasphemous Hollywood film is predicted to come out soon depicting Jesus as a lesbian woman. The film Habit stars Paris Jackson who plays the role of ‘lesbian Jesus’.

“Distributors haven’t picked it up as of yet, so let’s please spread awareness and wake people up to the Christianophobic garbage that is spread nowadays, but is somehow accepted and praised by society.”

Comments from those who signed the petition say it is ‘offensive’ and ‘blasphemous’.

One person wrote: “It’s extremely offensive to the Christian community. I find it hateful, unsympathetic to Christianity and highly offensive.”

While another disgruntled person posted: “Why do people find it okay to mock Christianity? The hypocrisy of people in this world is disgusting. This movie is disgusting and should never be made.”

The petition has even come to the attention of Thorne, who wrote on her Instagram story: “Because Jesus is a woman…wowowowowowo.”

As yet, Habit has no release date.
