Homeless NYC man collared for attempted rape of girl in her bedroom

A homeless man has been arrested on charges he tried to rape a 15-year-old Bronx girl in her bedroom while she slept, police said Saturday.

Marlon Alvarez, 31, was charged with attempted rape, burglary, sex abuse and forcible touching for the May 30 surprise attack inside the girl’s Vyse Avenue apartment in Crotona.

Alvarez smashed the girl’s bedroom window at around 4:30 a.m., attacking her in her sleep, police said.

She woke up and screamed, and her mom chased him out of the residence and called the cops, police said. The girl was shaken up but not injured, police said.

Authorities took Alvarez into custody Friday after he was spotted in Mott Haven, police said.
