Twitter flags Texas attorney general’s tweets about Rachel Levine for ‘hateful content’

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is not backing down after being put on notice for violating “Twitter rules abut hateful conduct” following a series of tweets stating that those born with “one X and one Y chromosome” are not women but men.

Paxton’s initial tweet followed Assistant Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, a biological man, being named one of USA Today’s “Women of the Year” this past week.

The attorney general also tweeted his congratulations on Friday to Emma Weyant, the collegiate swimmer who lost to transgender NCAA winner Lia Thomas.

“This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about hateful conduct,” Twitter wrote in a warning filter placed on Paxton’s tweets. “However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”

The Texas Republican issued a statement blasting the culture war against human biology and freedom of speech.

“This whole insane episode represents a two-pronged attack from the left — both of which I’m vigorously fighting against,” Paxton wrote. “First is the left’s war against human biology, and especially against women. Second is their weaponization of Big Tech against conservative voices.”

Paxton promised to seek ways to stop the Left’s censorship, noting that users cannot like or comment on the tweets.

“Big Tech is not only anti-conservative and anti-Republican,” he added. “It is now apparently anti-truth and anti-science. I will continue to use all my power to hold them accountable. Even now, I’m exploring legal options to stop their one-sided censorship.”

Last October, Republican Reps. Jim Banks and Marjorie Taylor Greene were censored by Twitter after they referred to U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine as a man instead of a woman.
