Nina Jankowicz was named as the Biden administration’s executive director of the Department of Homeland Security’s new Disinformation Governance Board on Thursday. Jankowicz was immediately thrust into the spotlight after being named as the head of the government agency that will reportedly “coordinate countering misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia.”
Commentators took notice that the Disinformation Governance Board czar previously dismissed Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop – which has been authenticated by numerous media outlets – as a “Trump campaign product.”
A TikTok video of Jankowicz singing was broadcast on Thursday’s episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” The video features Jankowicz singing about “information laundering” set to a musical parody of the “Mary Poppins” song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
According to Mediaite, Jankowicz sings the lyrics:
Information laundering is really quite ferocious. It’s when a huckster takes some lies and makes them sound precocious.
By saying them in Congress or a mainstream outlet, so disinformation’s origins are slightly less atrocious.
It’s how you hide a little, hide a little, little, little lie, it’s how you hide a little, little lie, it’s how you hide a little, little, little lie.
When Rudy Giuliani shared bad intel from Ukraine. Or when TikTok influencers say COVID can’t cause pain.
They’re laundering disinfo and we really should take note. And not support their lies with our wallet, voice or vote – oh!
In February 2021, Jankowicz shared her singing performance on Twitter with the caption: “You can just call me the Mary Poppins of disinformation.”
Twitter reactions to the musical number by the new head of the Disinformation Governance Board included shock and cringe.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas): “This is who the government is trying to put in charge of regulating YOUR speech.”
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.): “Behold, America’s new speech czar.”
BlazeTV host Steve Deace of “The Steve Deace Show”: “She’s perfect! She is the incarnate Spirit of the Age who also embodies the affluent woke white women that are the Democrats’ main base now.”
RealClearPolitics president Tom Bevan: “Wait, this is real? I thought it was a joke or a deep fake or something.”
Columnist Joe Concha: “This can’t be real. But it is.”
Lawyer Harmeet K. Dhillon: “I’m telling you, lockdowns really messed with people’s mental health!”
Outkick founder Clay Travis: “This is the new Biden administration head of Ministry of Truth, Nina Jankowicz. She is in charge of what’s truth and fiction in America. Every time you think the Biden administration can’t get more ridiculous, they do.”
Conservative commentator Katie Pavlich: “Why is the director of the Biden Ministry of Truth using a Chinese spy app?”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw: “I mean, she wrote a whole book based on the premise that you can be a CIA agent and also ~marginalized~ at the same time so she’s the perfect censor kween for the Biden regime.”
Author Steven Phillips, MD: “So this is the truth czar? I thought this was a joke at first–Imo, the poor judgment, smugness, & overconfidence it takes to make a video like this is no joke. And I think it’s even more egregious due to her documented history of spreading lies. How did we get here?”
Editor Curtis Houck: “Rich, white, liberal women are indeed the worst and catering to them is destroying our country.”
Author Matt Stoller: “Honestly this is enough of a reason to ban TikTok.”
Former Arizona Senator Kelli Ward: “A spoonful of sugar cannot make THIS medicine go down.”
Editor Brandon Morse: “I’ve made some pretty cringe stuff in my time but damn.”
Former NYPD detective Rob O’Donnell: “They had Baghdad Bob, we have Nanny State Nina. The Ministry of Truth is unconstitutional, period. Every entity has a Press Secretary or PIO to relay their point of view, this is an abuse of a Law Enforcement Agency.”
Author Ajit Datta: “Who would have thought the collapse of the world’s greatest empire would be so funny.”
Talk show host Mark Davis: “God help us.”
Apparently, this is not Jankowicz’s first foray into music.
According to a “Harry Potter” fan website, Jankowicz and another young woman launched a “wizard rock band” named “The Moaning Myrtles” based on the “Harry Potter” books in 2005. The band reportedly released two albums by 2008.
“The band’s name is a take-off of Moaning Myrtle, the ghost who was killed by Salazar Slytherin’s Basilisk and now haunts the first-floor girls’ lavatory,” according to the Harry Potter Wiki site.

In 2018, the Moaning Myrtles reunited to share their tribute song dedicated to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) titled “Nevertheless, I Persisted (Myrtle Elizabeth Warren).”
The lyrics for the “Myrtle Elizabeth Warren” include:
My job has changed since we last met
I advocate for human rights
Remotely taking on each threat
So call your reps and join the fight
When people tried to silence me
I stood my ground and I resisted
Because we need equality
And nevertheless, I persisted
Wuh oh wuh oh I’ve got a reputation
Wuh oh and yeah it’s cause for celebration
So I’m standing up for the next generation
You can call me Myrtle Elizabeth Warren
Myrtle Elizabeth Warren
Myrtle Elizabeth Warren
Nevertheless, I persisted
