Group of 8 steal $2.5K+ worth of electronics from LI Walmart, suspects sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Eight people are wanted for stealing thousands of dollars in products from a Long Island Walmart and threatening a store employee with a stun gun, authorities said Saturday.

The incident happened on Wednesday at a Walmart store on Jerusalem Avenue in Uniondale. The group, which consisted of seven men and one woman, filled up three shopping carts full of electronics like TVs and speakers, authorities said.

As they made their way to the exit, they were confronted by a loss prevention employee. One man from the crew took out a stun gun and activated it, scaring the employee, police said.

All eight suspects then fled the store in three cars waiting outside. The total value of the stolen products is about $2,500. No injuries were reported as a result.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is being asked to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
