Kaylee McGhee White says Twitter exodus shows Left’s wish to ‘control’ narrative

The Washington Examiner’s Kaylee McGhee White explained that the reason why the Left is having a “total meltdown” over Twitter changes is that it can no longer “control the narrative.”

“Twitter was one of the tools that they used to control the narrative. … Now, they don’t have that anymore,” White said on Fox Business.

“It’s very difficult for them to control the discussion and to control who’s able to participate in it” she added.

Lauding CEO Elon Musk’s suggestion on Thursday that Twitter publicly detail its censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story, White said it is an important way to regain trust.

“The suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story was really egregious, and I think people forget just how far this went,” she told host David Asman.

“The New York Post was locked out of its Twitter account for a couple of weeks, [and] users who shared this story online were actually kicked off the platform,” White added.

Musk teased a forthcoming release of information after a question was posed on Twitter asking if people supported making it public.

“This is necessary to restore public trust,” he wrote in response.

Questioning if the platform’s suppression could have had an impact on the 2020 election, she said Musk uncovering the details would hopefully provide an answer.

White listed two scenarios that she said are most likely to come from Musk’s reveal.

First, the suppression could have been an “entirely internal decision” made by Twitter executives.

“I don’t think that that would really come as a shock to anyone, knowing who the previous CEO was,” she said.

The second option is that outsiders, whether in the government or in the then-incoming Biden administration, had something to do with the censorship and were in communication with Twitter.

She said if it is the latter scenario, Musk needs to “name names.”

“And those people do need to be held accountable because that is a deliberate attempt to interfere with the 2020 election,” White added.
