EDWARDS COUNTY, TEXAS: A group of illegal migrants were caught on camera trying to break into a woman’s ranch house as they tried to kick the door in and break it down with a piece of wood. However, they were unable to get in after the owner of the house spent $13K upgrading the security after the previous break-in attempts. As a result, they got into her neighbor’s home but fled when the Border Patrol arrived.
The video shared by Fox News’ Bill Melugin shows the moment the illegal immigrants began to kick at the door of the woman’s house in Edwards County. He tweeted by saying, “Security video shows a group of suspected illegal immigrants trying to break into a ranch house in Edwards County, TX earlier this month. House is about 50 miles inland from border. Property owner tells me this has happened before, & she has spent $13k upgrading security.”

While the men’s immigration status is not known, the Daily Mail report suggests that ranchers and communities along and near the border have been dealing with a surge in illegal immigration. Border patrol officers on the southern border caught a total of 233,740 illegal immigrants crossing over from Mexico last month, the highest number of illegal border crossings ever recorded for November.
Title 42
The US Supreme Court on Tuesday, December 27, ruled that Title 42, a legal provision used to expel asylum-seekers, will remain in place, for now, reports BBC. The Biden administration said in a statement, “We are advancing our preparations to manage the border in a secure, orderly, and humane way when Title 42 eventually lifts and will continue expanding legal pathways for immigration.” However, this resulted in thousands of migrants making their way to and through the border this year out of fear that Title 42 would end, and Texas seeing cases of some migrants killing local pets, stealing from shops, and knocking on doors late at night growing in numbers. One of the residents in Eagle Pass, Laura Ramos, said she has now taught her children to use tasers and other weapons to defend their family business. She said, “It’s something that has had to be done because we don’t know what can happen. We don’t know these people or where they come from.” Another said, “It’s pretty scary. We’re getting used to it already because unfortunately, nothing is really being done,” as per Daily Mail.
A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said, “As required by today’s Supreme Court order, the Title 42 public health order will remain in effect and individuals who attempt to enter the United States unlawfully will continue to be expelled to Mexico or their home country. People should not listen to the lies of smugglers who take advantage of vulnerable migrants, putting lives at risk. The border is not open, and we will continue to fully enforce our immigration laws,” as per the outlet.
