Brian Wagoner, a biological male who once identified as a transgender woman, said he feels like “collateral damage for a movement” that caused him real pain

“My problems got worse. I added new problems,” Wagoner said. “I feel like the therapist that I went to see was an activist that happened to practice therapy, too.”
Wagoner, who is from California, noted that gender-affirming care clinics there are entirely patient-led practices that lack high-quality assessments.
Brian Wagoner, a biological male who once identified as a transgender woman, said he feels like “collateral damage for a movement” that caused him real pain.
Amid drug and mental health struggles in college, Wagoner told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson that a therapist suggested he was “actually a woman in a man’s body,” and led him down a path of transitioning.
“I thank God every day of my life that I never had any plastic surgery. I took hormones, and it messed me up,” Wagoner said. “My story is real, my pain is real.”
Wagoner added he decided to de-transition when he realized he was on the wrong track after becoming sober.
“It was like leaving the twilight zone,” he said. “I feel like I’ve been harmed by this, and I wish that — I don’t want anyone else to experience what I experienced. So, I’m out of the twilight zone and, you know, I’m a very happy and successful man. You know, I hope that my experience helps somebody.”
In efforts to prevent youth from experiencing similar regret to that of Wagoner, Republican states are advancing legislation to ban transgender procedures. Idaho, Mississippi, and Missouri recently advanced bills that would block gender-affirming care.
