LONDON, ENGLAND: Non-binary musician Sam Smith is at the receiving end of internet castigation as his recent Gloria tour performance was full of satanic references and explicit sexual imagery. The internet, which has already become a place for hot debate regarding Trans laws, did not take kindly to the “grotesque” act that the musician presented.
The musician, who came out as nonbinary in 2019 and uses they/them pronouns, is also a self-professed Satanist. He was criticized for using satanic props including devil horns, pitchforks, and nipple tassels apart from his devil’s regalia. He has also reportedly displayed some dominatrix acts on stage.
The 30-year-old singer-songwriter is currently in his ‘Gloria the Tour’ after his album of the same name was successful financially.
“Sam Smith is grotesque beyond words. Young children sat in the audience watching him do this,” tweeted Oli London. London also posted another clip from the gig with the caption, “Last night Sam Smith performed a satanic show filled with se***l references, fetish gear, a strip tease and a grotesque imitation of s*x acts on stage while children were in the audience. One TikTok video shows a mother posting about her 5 year old attending the concert & meeting the singer. This is not normal. This is immoral. Sam Smith wants to normalise this behaviour. #samsmith.” Another netizen commented, “The music industry is utterly demonic and not safe for kids anymore. For Sam Smith to perform like this to a crowd with children is something that should be questioned. If a stranger came up to kids in the street and did this you’d call the police, so what’s the difference???”
Posting an old clip of Sam Smith, one fan asked, “How did Sam Smith go from this to what ever he did the other day?” “Just saw sam smith in a dominatrix a** fit…his music don’t fit that sh*t at ALL,” remarked another. Another person commented, “There was no age restriction on his shows, some parents may have bought the tickets based on his music without knowing what it would have been. Sam Smith is a raging weirdo for that. society is already doomed let’s not normalise kids watching this kind of act at such a young age?”
