Alexa, play Kash Doll “Doing Too Much,” because this is pretty bizarre. A Vermont elementary school has sent a letter to parents, informing them that teachers will no longer be using terms such as “male” or “female” when they’re teaching fifth-grade students about puberty in health/science education. Parents at the Founders Memorial School received a letter last week from Principal Sara Jablonski, who said that their new way of teaching will reflect the district’s desire for them to use gender-inclusive language.
This means that teachers educating children about their bodies and human reproductive systems would now be referring to a boy or male as a “person who produces sperm,” while a girl or a woman is described as a “person who produces eggs.” The Westford School District had already reworked worksheets and upcoming homework for students to reflect the changes. “In an effort to align our curriculum with our equity policy, teachers will be using gender-inclusive language throughout this unit,” she wrote.
“With any differences, we strive to use ‘person-first’ language as best practice,” Their decision has already caused outrage not just on social media but also with the Parents Defending Education group, having told Fox News Digital, “Speaking about anyone in this way is dehumanizing in any context but these new language rules specifically apply to a health unit for 5th graders about puberty and reproduction.”
“It is clear that the school has decided to be derelict in their duty to educate students in the name of equity. If anyone is wondering what it looks like when an elementary school has been captured by gender ideology, this is it.”
Even on Twitter, people said that if they were to receive a letter stating that their child would no longer be taught with the terms “male” and “female,” they wouldn’t even hesitate to find them a new school to attend, saying the decision was bizarre and ridiculous.
“Absurd. A person who produces sperm is, by definition, a male. A person who produces eggs is, by definition, a female,” one person wrote on Twitter. “And sex is not ‘assigned’ at birth, it’s observed at birth. How exhausting all this nonsense is.”
Another person tried to imagine a scenario using the school’s new way of referring to men, writing, “Can this be true? ‘Our persons who produce sperm team came in first place in the state championships.’” Another person had a rather interesting question, tweeting, “So wtf is a ‘person that produces eggs’ post menopause when that person no longer produces eggs and never has produced sperm? Non-existent?”
Socialites, do you think this way of teaching is helping or hurting the children?
