Alabama receiver arrested for sodomy against a juvenile, removed from team

A wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide has been removed from the team after his arrest for a sexual assault charge Monday.

Antonio Ross, 19, was indicted by a Calhoun County grand jury on a second-degree sodomy charge. The case reportedly involves a juvenile female victim but other details of the case have so far been withheld by authorities.

Ross was released on a $50,000 bond but was kicked off the University of Alabama football team following his arrest.

“Tonio Ross is no longer part of the program and has been removed from campus,” Alabama said in a statement, according to The Associated Press.

Ross had been listed as a wide receiver in the team’s 2023 media guide.
