America has lost all control.
The numbers are eye-watering. Around 600,000 ‘gotaways’ crossed the Southern border undetected in the last fiscal year. 900,000 more, out of 2.4 million migrants encountered by guards, were willingly released into the US. In total, that’s equivalent to the population of Philadelphia.
Of course, Joe Biden and his Democrats are to blame. But now their own party’s mayors are begging for billions of taxpayer dollars to remedy a problem they asked for.
The absolute gall of these people. They can’t say they weren’t warned.

If you even so much as suggest a limit on the number of newcomers we can safely manage, bleeding-heart Democrats rush to quote that poem printed on the Statue of Liberty (‘From her beacon-hand glows world-wide welcome…’).
Democrat mayors of big cities far away from the border, such as New York and Chicago, have spent years touting their status as ‘sanctuary cities’ where local cops aren’t allowed to report illegal aliens to federal authorities.
New York Mayor Eric Adams, who needs only to walk a few blocks from his swanky office to see the Statute of Liberty, campaigned on the promise to ‘protect our immigrants’.
But guess what: as the influx across the Rio Grande – encouraged by the weakness of Biden’s administration – spiraled out of control, border states started sending migrants north to share the burden.
More than 100,000 have been bused to New York City this past year. 20,000 have arrived in Chicago. And suddenly, they say, this is a completely unexpected problem.

Together they are seeking $5 billion in funding to address the ‘humanitarian crisis impacting [their] cities’.
No matter that $1.4 billion from hard-working Americans – many of whom have been warning about this from the start – had already been apportioned by the White House to help tidy up this mess of the Democrats’ own making.
That number now isn’t enough. And rest assured, this won’t be the last time Adams and Co come begging for more.
Their letter says New York alone has shelled out $1.7 billion to cope with the recent deluge. Denver is spending $2 million each week just on shelter.
They also write that, while their ‘cities have historically absorbed and integrated new migrants with success’, the issue has now become ‘overwhelming’ and that the ‘diversity of nationalities’ is particularly challenging.
Hold up – aren’t these the same people who preach that ‘diversity’ is our greatest strength? A Republican would surely be tarred as racist for expressing such a sentiment.
Still think an open border doesn’t pose an existential threat? Just talk to the Israelis.
Indeed, at a time when pro-Hamas demonstrators are marching through our cities and college campuses, tearing down posters of hostages and terrorizing Jewish Americans, we should be thinking harder about whether the people coming into our country respect Western ideals of tolerance.
But the Biden Administration has gone in the opposite direction.

As DailyMail.com exclusively reported last weekend, gangsters from Venezuela are unleashing chaos in major cities such as Dallas and Miami, with armed men fighting in the streets, residents’ windows smashed in and tires slashed.
Nationwide, enough fentanyl is now seized each month to kill everyone in the United States.
Meanwhile sex slavery is booming, as desperate migrant women and girls – again, largely from Venezuela – have turned swathes of New York City into open-air red-light districts, soliciting sex in broad daylight.
Migrants aren’t stupid. People who abandon their lives and travel thousands of miles to enter a foreign country know they face danger.
They come because they’ve been led to believe the odds of a better life are nonetheless in their favor.
Ask anyone who’s reported from the border or served there. Migrants from all over the world know that Biden eased Trump’s tough restrictions. Many knew precisely when the pandemic-era ‘Title 42’ deportation policy was ending in May.
What has followed over the summer and into the fall has been unprecedented, both in terms of outright illegal or criminal entrants, as well as people making bogus asylum claims.
And it’s only getting worse.
September saw a record monthly total of 269,735 people caught crossing illegally. And they’re not getting sent back any time soon.

‘Be-kind’ Democrats pander to soft-hearted sentimentality. But creating a breeding ground of sex trafficking and drug smuggling isn’t kind to anybody except the cartels.
A recent poll showed two-thirds of Americans now disapprove of the job Biden is doing on immigration.
Now even his useless stooge mayors have all but called out his incompetence, too. You might say he’s up against a wall.
