A Louisiana homeowner shot an intruder early Tuesday morning, after which the intruder fled the scene — and Houma police said they soon arrested two suspects involved in the burglary. Houma is about an hour southwest of New Orleans.

Police said their investigation determined that the suspect had been wounded.
Officers began searching the neighborhood for the suspect they identified as 34-year-old Dex Hebert, police said.
Authorities said they discovered that Hebert was in a home in the 1200 block of Gibb Street — about a five-minute drive from the home invasion scene.
When officers attempted to make contact with Hebert, a woman identified as 26-year-old Tye Corbitt exited the home armed with a handgun, police said.
Corbitt was quickly taken into custody without incident, and she said Hebert was in the home lying on a sofa with a gunshot to the head, police said.
When officers who entered the home initially were unable to locate Hebert, police said they announced that they would release a K9 into the home.

What happened next?
Hebert was taken to a hospital for his forehead wound, which was found to be superficial, police said. After medical treatment, police said Hebert was charged with one count of simple burglary and an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
Police said Corbitt was found to be involved in the burglary, and she was charged with simple burglary, obstruction of justice, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
