Videos: Hundreds of illegal immigrants charge US-Mexico border

A video from El Paso, Texas, shows a mob of over 100 illegal immigrants attempting to rush across the border wall on Thursday. The mob of illegal immigrants was recorded breaking through a razor wire barrier and pushing their way past Texas National Guardsmen.

The New York Post reported that roughly 600 illegal immigrants gathered at the southern border near El Paso, Texas, on Thursday prior to at least 100 illegal immigrants charging the border.

Despite the efforts of the Texas National Guardsmen, Jennie Taer, a New York Post reporter, tweeted that a “riot broke out” at the border as “hundreds of migrants decided they had enough of TX National Guard returning them to Mexico and rushed the border wall.” The reporter also included a video of Thursday’s riot.

Another video shared by the reporter shows a group of illegal immigrants pulling apart the razor wire fencing as a mob of illegal immigrants overwhelmed several Texas National Guard troops who had formed a defensive wall in the razor wire gap.

While some of the illegal immigrants were recorded putting their hands up in a show of surrender, many others rushed past the National Guardsmen and charged toward the border gate.

“This is the moment when TX National Guard became overrun by migrants rioting to get across the border here in El Paso today,” Taer tweeted alongside the video. “We were there and saw it all happen. Absolute chaos here.”

The Texas National Guard has been deployed to the southern border under Republican Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star. The Texas governor has repeatedly accused President Joe Biden’s administration of refusing to enforce immigration laws and has directed state resources to be used to secure the border.
