NBA legend Dwyane Wade made headlines this week. The former multi-time NBA champion announced he would help lead the fight against transgender discrimination by creating a new medium.
Wade and his daughter Zaya announced the launch of ‘Translatable.’ The online coummunity will provide support to transgender youth and their families.

“NBA Great Dwyane Wade launches Translatable, an online community supporting transgender youth,” the news network posted on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
According to the station, Wade announced the launch of ‘Translatable’ at The Elevate Prize Foundation’s Make Good Famous Summit. The foundation awarded Wade with the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award.

Wade, his wife Gabrielle Union, and Zaya moved away from Florida to California after the state passed several insidious anti-transgender laws into effect.
The Basketball Hall of Famer also announced that he plans to use $250,000 in “unrestricted funding” following his award victory for the ‘Translatable’ community. His foundation, the Wade Family Foundation, is funding the new online community.
The sports world had much to say over the news on Dwyane Wade and his efforts to help lift up the transgender community.
