The mystery of the two Jordanian nationals who tried to get onto Marine Corps Base Quantico grows ever thicker — and more troubling.
The latest: The pair, Hasan Hamdan and Mohammad Dabous, were released on bail and set free, despite being in the country illegally.
And having raised red flags about possible links to a terror plot.
Officials won’t say what the two are thought to have been doing at the base.

All of which raises a troubling prospect: President Biden’s wave-them-all-in border policy has invited terrorist who are already actively working on US soil to harm Americans.
And Team Biden is actively trying to cover it up, particularly as the November election draws near.
What is known so far is about the duo is that they entered the country separately but somehow met up. They then turned up in a box truck seeking entry to Quantico claiming they were Amazon delivery drivers.
Military police stopped them for trespassing and handed them to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Yet officials won’t say boo about anything else.
Were these guys on a terror watch list?
What was in the box truck?
Was an investigation launched?
What have officials learned?
Crickets.
Worse, officials won’t say why they’re keeping the details secret, unlike in other cases.
{snip}
Nor are these the first potential terrorists to get in: In July, three Palestinians with possible terror ties entered illegally, one with a with a photo of a masked man with an AK-47.
In June, eight Tajik nationals, also with suspected terror links, got in.
Officials admit to another 400-plus migrants smuggled in via ISIS-linked networks, with as many as 50 now in the wind.
That’s hair-raising.
If Quantico case turns out to be a coverup of a terror plot for political reasons, heads should roll.
Americans deserve to know if Biden’s open borders have already put them in danger.
