An illegal migrant accused of raping a pre-teen child in Massachusetts was allowed bail and immigration authorities were never contacted by local authorities, according to a report from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement via the New York Post.
Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, 28, a native of El Salvador, was charged with one count of rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 on July 26, before being released on bail by Nantucket District Court three days later.

“He represents a significant danger to the children of our Massachusetts communities. ERO [ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations] Boston will not tolerate such a threat to the most vulnerable of our population.

Aldana-Arevalo is among the more than 1.7 million illegal migrants considered to be “gotaways” suspected to have gained access to the United States without sensors alerting border authorities. Nantucket isn’t considered to be a “sanctuary” jurisdiction but migrants accused of crimes aren’t typically reported to immigration authorities, like many other areas of Massachusetts, according to the New York Post.
