Tren de Aragua is recruiting child gang members from migrant shelters, New York police have warned.
The violent Venezuelan gang has reportedly built a small army of children as young as 11 years old, known as the “Little Devils of 42nd Street”, who have stolen valuables at gunpoint and attacked police officers.

Joseph Kenny, the New York Police Department (NYPD) chief of detectives, said they had identified dozens of members of the gang who were attempting to blend in with asylum seekers in shelters.
“We have 39 members of TdA that have been identified and we have an additional four members that have been identified of a subgroup called Little Devils of 42nd Street. Those are much younger kids,” he said.

More than 800 of these crimes have taken place this year, more than doubling since 2023.
