Border czar Tom Homan torches AOC for ‘impeding’ arrest of illegal migrants

Tom Homan tore into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her ‘webinar’ teaching illegal migrants how to evade immigration enforcement.

President Donald Trump‘s border czar has asked the Department of Justice to define for him what would constitute as ‘impeding’ on his agents’ abilities to conduct their raids rounding up illegal immigrants.

Homan now suggests that AOC is breaking the law and says that Attorneys General often interpret the definition of ‘impeding law enforcement’ differently.

He has asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to tell him whether Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s actions are criminal and ‘where to draw the line’ on ‘impeding.’

‘When you sit down with people who are wanted by us – criminal aliens that have been ordered to be deported by the United States government and ignore that order – if you and I ignore that order we’d be sitting in prison.’

‘They ignored an order from a federal judge, they’re hiding in a home and she’s telling them not to open the door,’ Homan said in an interview on State of the Union.

Homan also didn’t take lightly AOC’s comment on Friday saying the border czar is only ‘vaguely familiar with U.S. immigration law.’

He has been in federal immigration enforcement for more than four decades and since 1984 has served as a Border Patrol agent, investigator and supervisor.

Trump’s border czar was Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations at ICE under President Barack Obama for his entire second term and was Acting Director of ICE at the start of the current president’s first term.

‘I have done this since 1984. I forgot more about the immigration law than AOC will ever know,’ Homan snarked when Bash recited what the lawmaker said about him.

He is referencing his appearance during a House hearing a few years ago where AOC, like many Democrats, repeated the notion that illegal immigrants are not inherently criminals.

The Trump administration, Republicans in Congress and Homan all disagree with this.

They say that entering the country through non-legal methods and then remaining in the U.S. undocumented automatically make these individuals criminals and therefore they should be treated as such.

As of last week, more than 6,000 undocumented migrants were removed from the U.S. as part of Trump’s vow to carry out the largest deportation operation in the country’s history.
