Walmart opens investigation after furious shopper discovers 22 extra items were added to their receipt

Walmart has launched an investigation after a shopper was charged for an additional 22 items.

When she got home and checked her receipt, she realized the retailer — the world’s biggest — had charged her for 24 items instead of the two she actually bought.

The frustrated customer went on media this week to complaint that Walmart still hadn’t issued a refund a month afterwards.

‘I bought 2 things and they added 22 and I have no f****** recourse.’

Shoppers are always entitled to the lowest advertised, posted, or quoted price in stores or online.

Stores are required to honor the products’ prices, even if the cost has increased since the initial purchase.

Walmart usually reaches out to shoppers who’ve shared their complaints and incidents on social media.

Walmart has a long history of being accused of overcharging customers.

The retail empire made headlines after a customer filed a class-action lawsuit claiming it overcharged its customers on certain weighted items in 2022.

The unidentified shopper claimed Walmart falsely inflated product weight, mislabeled items, and overcharged clearance products sold by weight.

Walmart denied wrongdoing but agreed to a $45 million settlement last year that would go to customers who qualified for refunds.

‘It took everyone working together to f*** this up so bad. How did everyone get so incompetent?,’ the aggravated shopper wrote on X.

Walmart asked the customer to send more details about the matter via DM, but it’s unclear what resulted from the investigation.

Walmart’s recent fourth quarter revenue was a 4.1 percent increase compared to its results this time last year.

Despite the success, Walmart was one of the retailers customers believed would be strongly affected by the latest tariffs put in place.

However, experts believe Walmart+ will serve as a secret weapon in keeping its finances and customer numbers on track.

Daily Mail has reached out to Walmart for comment about the incident.
