The mission patch worn by Katy Perry and five other women who went to space this week has sparked bizarre conspiracy theories that the spaceflight was part of a ‘satanic ritual.’
Blue Origin designed the patch with key symbols representing each of the crew members, but conspiracy theories claimed the design is the figure of a demonic figure.
Baphomet, often depicted as a goat-headed figure with a human body, is frequently associated with the Church of Satan and other occult and pagan traditions.

Others slammed Blue Origin for ‘mocking God,’ saying ‘this isn’t science, it’s a ritual.’
‘Goat horns. Celebs. Fake space,’ another user shared.
They ended the post with the Bible verse 2 Corinthians 11:14 that states: ‘Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.’
While the patch has sparked cries of the occult, Blue Origin’s design features a spaceship in the center surrounded by a star, firework, film reel, shooting star microphone, Flynn the Fly and scales of justice.
Perry, Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, TV presenter Gayle King, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn all took off from West Texas Monday aboard a Blue Origin rocket.

‘Katy Perry going to space was another psy-op [government-sponsored operation to influence people]…They are mocking people at this point…. ‘6’ women going to ‘space’ wearing the baphomet symbol,’ one user shared on X.
The number six is often associated with the Devil.
Another user claimed that Perry putting her hand over the patch after ringing the bell before the launch was also part of the ritual.
‘Katy Perry swearing her allegiance by placing her hand adoringly & lovingly over her Baphomet logo. They tell you in so many ways who they worship,’ they posted.
Others recalled the music video for the popstar’s hit ‘E.T,’ in which she shows her having goat legs at the end.
There is no evidence to support claims that the patch was designed to look like Baphomet.

The main character of Sánchez’s book, Flynn the Fly, was placed in the top left corner and a film reel for filmmaker Flynn on the opposite side.
King’s symbol was the microphone, as she is a CBS host. Nguyen received the scales of justice for her activism and a star for Bowe’s passion for science.
The patch was not the only item to spark conspiracies, as the butterfly cutout Perry held up while in space also churned up bizarre claims.
She unveiled her ‘Lifetimes’ setlist on the butterfly, which some users said was ‘MK Ultra Mind Control symbolism.’

The monarch butterfly is associated with MK Ultra mind control, but conspiracy theorists claim it symbolizes transformation, metamorphosis, and fragmentation of the mind — all metaphors they believe align with dissociation and reprogramming in mind control victims.
‘You can clearly see the butterfly Katy Perry is showing to the camera,’ an X user shared.
‘It’s a symbol linked to Project Monarch, an offshoot of MK-Ultra, the CIA’s secret mind control program created to produce mind-controlled individuals for covert operations.’
