The Minnesota State High School Coaches Association rewarded Rothenberger with First-Team All-State honors, and the trans player was only underclassman to be named to the First-Team out of all 4A high schools in Minnesota. Per Reduxx, who cited documents they obtained, the mother of Rothenberger “applied to the Hennepin County District Court to alter [the athlete’s] birth certificate shortly after his 9th birthday. The petition was approved, and Rothenberger was issued a new birth certificate showing that he was born ‘female’ and altering his name from ‘Charlie Dean’ to ‘Marissa.’”

Well, Rothenberger has been rollin’ this season, and that only continued Tuesday, reports say. Per Town Hall’s Dustin Grage, Rothenberger’s team pulled off a shutout victory against Maple Grove, a top team in the state of Minnesota, allowing only one hit. Champlin won the game 2-0.
