WARNING: Distressing content and images – Anigar Monsee was convicted of felony animal cruelty after filming herself torturing live animals before slowly killing them for gleeful viewers

Anigar Monsee, 28, was convicted of felony animal cruelty on Wednesday after she filmed herself torturing and mutilating live animals before brutally slaughtering them and posting the videos on YouTube. The Liberian national, who lives in Delaware, is now attempting to raise money so that she can “stay with her daughter” as she faces the possibility of a lengthy jail sentence.
“Hi, my name is Anigar Monsee, and I’m a single mother doing my best to raise my daughter on my own,” she wrote on the page. Monsee claimed she’s been targeted merely for “cooking traditional meals”.

But her version of events does not line up with what police discovered. Investigators recovered several horrifying videos Monsee had filmed.
One featured her with a chicken. “During the video, she is soliciting more likes and more viewers. And once she gets to the point where she is satisfied with the number of viewers, she then proceeds — over the course of 10 minutes — to harm and ultimately kill that chicken,” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt told Action News following Monsee’s arrest.
In other videos, Monsee was seen doing the same thing to a pigeon, a rabbit, and several frogs. She scalded terrified animals with boiling water and even skinned some of them alive in the horrifying videos.

Prosecutors said Monsee would inflict fear and pain on her animal victims for pleasure. The sickening videos finally ended after animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) spotted the clips and submitted an email tip to police.
Following her arrest, authorities said Monsee admitted to the abuse. Police said they played the videos of her torturing the animals to her and said she “became visibly upset” and requested that one video be turned off.
Monsee’s GoFundMe page has raised more than $450 of a $10,000 goal. “This has turned into a legal nightmare, and I’m terrified of what could happen to my daughter if I’m taken away from her. She’s my whole world, and I’ve always tried to do everything I can to give her love, stability, and a future,” she continued on the page.

The convict didn’t provide any further details about what immigration circumstances she is living in the US under or any deportation threats she has received. Her plea, however, comes as Trump has cracked down on illegal immigration since the start of his second term in January.
The president has also expressed his intention to take a hardline response to those living in the US on visas who are convicted of crimes. Monsee is set to be sentenced in July.
