Joy Reid Claims Conservative Freedom Agenda Is “Dangerous” During BET Interview [WATCH]

MSNBC host Joy Reid sharply criticized conservatives during an interview with BET Networks’ Miabelle, claiming that Republican policies amount to a “dangerous” push to return America to a past era, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

“And so Project Esther has those twin goals—protecting Israel from protests and criticism by making that criticism basically illegal, shutting down those protests on college campuses, and forcing women back into the home,” Reid said.

She argued that conservatives are seeking to re-create what she called a “hierarchical past” from the early 20th century or earlier. According to Reid, Republicans want a country “where there were no taxes, no regulations, and no natural rights for working Americans.”

“They want back the kind of world in the 1950s, where the only time you saw a Black woman, she had a maid’s uniform on, and she was taking care of your children. And the only time they saw a Black man was when he was their butler or their driver,” she said.

Her comments drew attention for claiming conservatives want to roll back social progress to as far back as the 1890s.

She further criticized conservative economic policies, framing them as an attack on modern rights.

“If you go back before the 20th century, there were no income taxes, there were no regulations on business. You could earn as much money as you wanted, and leave 100% of it to your children with no taxes,” Reid said.

“They don’t really believe that any of us have natural rights. They believe only the super rich, only the billionaires have real, true rights, and everyone else are just workers,” she added.

The remarks came as Democrats and media figures continue to criticize conservative economic and social policy proposals, while conservatives argue their agenda is centered on free markets, low taxes, and individual liberty.
