Then, there are the things we don’t see that are hiding in plain sight but are even more dangerous.
Here at RedState, we have reported on the incidences of illegal immigrants obtaining commercial driver’s licenses (CDL) in mostly blue states, and many of these drivers are completely unqualified to be behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler.

Now there is an added wrinkle to this issue. On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the arrest of Anmol Anmol. He is, surprise, an illegal immigrant from India.
On September 23, Anmol was arrested by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol during a routine truck scale inspection along Interstate 40. The name on his New York state-issued commercial driver’s license was…wait for it…”No Name Given Anmol.” That’s right, apparently, it was perfectly okay with the powers that be in New York that Mr. Anmol did not have to give his full name to obtain a CDL.

As egregious as No Name Given Anmol’s arrest was, the results of the sting operation were even more sobering. Of the 120 illegal immigrants that were apprehended, for various violations, 91 were taken into custody for operating a commercial motor vehicle with commercial driver’s licenses.
“They knew, they just thought they could get away with paying less for a driver.”
Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for DHS, Tricia McLaughlin, blasted New York for issuing Anmol a CDL without even bothering to require him to give his full name, saying,
“New York is not only failing to check if applicants applying to drive 18-wheelers are U.S. citizens but even failing to obtain the full legal names of individuals they are issuing commercial drivers’ licenses to. DHS is working with our state and local partners to get illegal alien truck drivers who often don’t know basic traffic laws off our highways.”

In September, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced the results of a nationwide audit done on the trucking industry by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The results revealed that, another surprise, California was the most glaring offender when it came to CDLs for illegal immigrants.
Duffy gave California 30 days to come into compliance with FMCSA regulations or face the loss of federal highway funding. Other states in violation included Colorado, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington state. Now we can add New York to that dubious list as well.
