A creep choked and attempted to rape a woman just off of a trail in Queens’ Forest Park, but fled when his would-be victim fought back, authorities said Sunday.
The victim, 51, was strolling along the park’s Orange Trail around 6:30 p.m. Saturday when the assailant tapped her on the shoulder, then hit her in the head, according to police.
The lowlife then shoved the woman into a patch of shrubs and bushes off the path, pulled down her pants and wrapped a piece of clothing around her neck, choking her, officials said.
But the tough-as-nails woman fought back and called for help, sending her attacker running off towards a nearby parkway underpass, cops said.
The woman was treated at an area hospital and released.
Investigators on Sunday released video of the shirtless suspect walking quickly near what appears to be a park entrance.
He held a dark blue T-shirt in his right hand, a dark baseball cap in his left.
He’s believed to be about 30-years-old, and was last seen wearing dark shorts, black sneakers and white socks.
