Leftist groups, joined by many Democratic politicians, had their “No Kings” protest on Saturday.
So what exactly was the purpose of all this, apart from being an effort at performance art? It was a whole lot of nothing.

But Speaker of the House Mike Johnson had a great comment on the “No Kings” protests on ABC with Jonathan Karl, where he just laid out how ridiculous and lacking in reality this whole effort was.
“If President Trump was a king, the government would be OPEN right now. If President Trump was a king, they would not have been able to engage in that free speech exercise.”

“They needed a stunt, they needed a show. Chuck Schumer needs cover right now,” Johnson continued. “He’s closed the government down, and he needs political cover. And this is part of it.”
It’s about the Democrats trying to convince their people that they’re doing something against the “evil Trump,” while he’s the one bringing more peace to the world. It’s not living in reality. And what they’re missing, of course, is that they are not the ones “saving democracy.” We are a constitutional republic, not a pure democracy. But the American people voted for Trump and his policies. The left is standing against that “democracy.” They were standing with the Communist Party which was one of the groups involved in the protest.
