While liberals slam Elon Musk’s TWITTERGATE, here’s what Twitter has REALLY been up to

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk’s Twitter is reportedly removing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) at an unprecedented scale with “no mercy for those who are involved in these illegal activities.”

The left was rather outraged after the billionaire released the “Twitter Files” exposing details on how the previous regime suppressed content regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020. Some even dubbed the move Musk’s “Twittergate.” However, it appears the tech tycoon has been working behind the scenes to remove CSAM “at scale.” A researcher revealed that the platform took down 44,000 suspicious accounts, and over 1,300 of those profiles attempted to bypass detection using codewords and text in images to communicate.

Eliza Bleu, a human trafficking survivor advocate and a survivor herself, has been pushing to protect children since before Musk took over Twitter. She previously noted how the platform was unable to detect CSAM “at scale,” but was delighted to share how the new team is making tremendous progress in taking down suspicious accounts.

“Twitter not only dropped The first Twitter Files yesterday….. In the last 24 hours, they removed 44k child sexual exploitation material profiles,” Bleu tweeted. “To remove that amount it used to take Twitter a month+. The corporate media narrative for the last week has been that Elon Musk fired most of Twitter’s child safety team and was running on a ‘skeleton crew.'”

She added, “Content moderation around the issues of child sexual exploitation has gotten better under Elon Musk, not worse and now Twitter has the data to back it up.”

Many ridiculed Twitter’s previous management for their apparent inaction on the issue and lauded Musk’s efforts in that direction. “44 thousand? Sheesh…that’s kind of scary how many are out there,” one user responded. “It is absolutely astounding to me how the previous Twitter regime, having full capability to remove this garbage and to protect our children, failed to do so. I’m Disgusted. Shame on them,” another fumed. “And yet everybody says that he’s destroying Twitter… It’s so confusing why people would try to ruin this man’s reputation,” someone else said of Musk.

Researcher Andrea Stroppa revealed how he worked with Twitter to tackle the child abuse problem head-on. He shared a thread noting how the platform had updated its mechanism to detect CSAM content in a much faster, more efficient, and more aggressive way.

III. Twitter updated its mechanism to detect content related to child sexual abuse/exploitation material. Faster, more efficient, and more aggressive. No mercy for those who are involved in these illegal activities.

Twitter’s daily suspension rate has reportedly nearly doubled over the past few days, meaning it is doing a capillary analysis of contents. “It doesn’t matter when illicit content has been published. Twitter will find it and act accordingly,” Stroppa wrote. He revealed that within the past 24 hours, the platform began increasing its efforts and took down 44,000 suspicious accounts, and over 1,300 of those profiles had tried to bypass detection using codewords and text in images to communicate.

Meanwhile, Bleu revealed in her own thread that “Twitter is currently working on detecting, removing, and reporting child sexual abuse material at scale,” adding that the rapid changes are “just beautiful to see.”

The issue will take awhile to fully clean up but it’s just beautiful to see so many changes so quickly.

If you see child sexual exploitation on Twitter or any platform please report below as well as to the platform. https://t.co/261ukruhe8

“While the corporate media was fear-mongering and spreading baseless conspiracy theories about Musk’s inability to tackle child sexual exploitation on Twitter with an alleged ‘skeleton crew,’ the platform was actually busy making amazing progress towards protecting sexually exploited children,” Bleu told Teslarati on Saturday, December 3. “I’m extremely grateful to see the progress and the changes made under Elon Musk. He has accomplished in a month what the platform could not seem to do over the past decade about the issue of child sexual abuse material. The only time the platform previously made this much progress is when they implemented PhotoDNA.” The PhotoDNA technology reportedly aids organizations in finding and removing known images of child exploitation online.
