Presbyterians gone wild: San Fran church hosts drag queens ‘created in God’s image’

OPINION:

The Calvary Presbyterian Church in San Francisco hosted a “Drag Queen Bible Story Hour” during Sunday services, welcoming adults and young children alike and giving thanks to God for “the gift of drag queens.” And church officials weren’t exactly shy about bragging about the event; in a Facebook post, they commended God for creating drag queens in His image.

Signs of the times.

Signs of the advancing evil of the end times.

“Know this also,” 2 Timothy 3:1-2 states, “that in the last days perilous times shall come: For men will be … unholy … having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.”

When a church doesn’t just fail to speak about the unholy, out of concern for offending parishioners, but outright embraces and hosts the unholy — that’s when you know 2 Timothy 3:1-2 applies.

“What a gift it was to have Joann Fabrixxx, Flamy Grant and the Rev. Janie Spahr with us this afternoon for Drag Queen Bible Story Hour! We thank God for the rest diversity present in this world and hold to the truth that each and every one of us is created in God’s image and loved by God,” Calvary Presbyterian wrote on Facebook. “For the gift of Drag Queens, O God, we give you thanks!”

The photos included several children among the attendees.

Why? What was the end game here?

It’s not that God doesn’t love all His creations; He does — yes, even drag queens.

It’s not that God doesn’t want all His creations to go to Heaven; He does — again, yes, even drag queens.

But it is that God won’t be mocked.

And if God made male and female in His image — both — and also gave male and female certain roles to fulfill, then it seems dubious to suggest that males and females can alter their biological realities at whim; swap out their God-ordained genders at will; and become whomever they want to become simply by donning different clothes or undergoing certain medical procedures. It seems illogical that God created male and female in His image so then the males and females He created could change into whatever sex that pleased them at whatever moment in time.

It seems dubious, illogical and cruel.

After all, rewarding bad behavior only leads to more bad behavior. And in matters of spirituality and heaven versus hell and Revelation and biblical truths, to reward wrong behavior by embracing it, supporting it and dressing it as right or good or moral, is actually to lead someone down the path to hell. That’s cruel. That’s unChristian. That’s immoral.

Why would a church supposedly in the business of teaching biblical truths instead embrace lies and deceptions and spins — the stuff of Satan?

Pope Francis, earlier this year, told his Catholic flocks to welcome LGBTQ members into the church. In principle, that’s fine; the church is supposed to welcome all. That’s different from letting them take to the stage and showcase their deviances before children, however. It’s one thing to love the sinner — as Christians are commanded to do. It’s entirely another to love the sin — which Christians are commanded not to do.

It used to be that concept was not so difficult to put into practice.

For instance: Thieves are certainly welcome to attend church services; so, too, adulterers — but they’re not welcome to steal from the other church-goers or to openly parade their adulterous partners before their fellow worshippers. That would be scandalous; that would be cause for a polite invite to leave — at the very least. That would not lead to invitations from church leaders for the thief and adulterer to teach congregants how to successfully steal and cheat.

Yet this Presbyterian church felt compelled to give a platform to drag queens to showcase their sins? And before little children, as well?

Flaunting the unholy doesn’t seem in line with proper church business.

But this is where we’re at in America.

What’s next, stripper poles in the sanctuary? Church-sponsored twerking classes for teens? Where do we draw the line on proper versus improper; moral versus immoral?

Well, lookie here. Coincidentally, the Bible teaches those boundaries.

Unfortunately, too many churches are turning away from biblical truths and toward the imaginations and promptings of their own hearts — forgetting, or perhaps ignoring, the Bible itself addresses even this: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt,” as Jeremiah states.

And so drag queen shows in churches have now been deemed proper.

America’s immoral culture cannot last. Don’t let the atheists and secularists and scoffers convince you otherwise.

The only hope for a return to American Exceptionalism — to God-given liberties that withstand the pressures of leftist influences and evil cultural pressures — is for Judeo-Christian teachings and truths to take front and center in society. Want to save America? Read the Bible. Apply biblical principles to modern life. Follow Jesus. It really is the only way.
