EXCLUSIVE: Number of migrants hospitalized after falling from the border wall has skyrocketed 1,000 PERCENT under Joe Biden with over 400 climbers injured in San Diego alone

The number of migrants falling from the border wall and being hospitalized with serious injuries has spiraled by 1,000 percent since Joe Biden took office, figures seen by Dailymail.com show.

Hundreds of wall climbers – half of them women – have been admitted to a San Diego hospital a few miles from the border with injuries including shattered legs and ankles, and traumatic brain injuries.

Doctors put the astonishing rise down to the sheer volume of people now attempting to get over the wall.

But at Scripps Mercy Hospital, a few miles north of Tijuana, Mexico, there has been a surge in admissions.

Between 2016 and 2020 it was not uncommon to have a month with no border wall fallers thee. In 2020 there were a a total of just 34.

But the the numbers started ton rise dramatically at the beginning of 2021 when Biden took office.

By September last year it reached 55 in a month, and the total number of seriously injured fallers taken to the hospital in 2022 was 239.

Across San Diego County – which has two trauma centers for border wall fallers – the annual number of serious injuries has risen from about 40 to 400 – a 1,000 percent increase.

‘We certainly haven’t seen anything like this and I’ve been here for over 20 years,’ said Dr. Vishal Bansal, the director of trauma at Scripps.

The hospital is seeing migrant patients from across the globe including South America, Africa and Asia.

A seriously injured 26-year-old Guatemalan woman found at the base of the border wall near San Diego. She fell while climbing over with her two children aged five and three.

They used to be accompanied to hospital by border patrol agents, but agents are so busy that migrants now arrive unaccompanied.

As to why the numbers of injuries have soared so dramatically Dr Bansal said: ‘I don’t know the answer. I suspect it’s just the number and volume of patients making the journey to the U.S.

‘If you have 10 times more coming across, for instance, I would expect 10 times as many injuries.’

In 2019 the wall in the area was heightened from 17ft to 30ft and it has been suggested that could have contributed to the rise in injuries,.

Cartels use ropes and ladders, build makeshift buildings, and drive trucks up to the wall to help paying migrants get to the top.

They then try to slide or jump down the metal slats on the other side with nothing to break the descent.

The number of migrants trying to cross the border has exploded during Biden’s presidency, with critics blaming him for contributing to a perception that the border was open.

Biden has visited the border only once in his entire 50-year political career.

In January this year he made a brief visit to a section of the border in El Paso, Texas. he has never been to the section between Mexico and California.

More than 260,000 migrants reportedly crossed the southwest portion of the border last month, the highest monthly figure ever.

On taking office, Biden paused construction of Donald Trump’s border wall and vowed that he would build ‘not another foot’.

Meanwhile, New York Mayor Eric Adams went to Mexico last week to implore would-be migrants not to come, and accused Biden of ‘failing New York City on this issue’.

A Marquette Law School poll conducted late last month gave Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination, a 24-point advantage over Biden on handling immigration and border security issues.
