How many times have y’all attended an event or place where the National Anthem was played, and at least one person stood up for it?
Probably just about everybody reading this, correct? Well, with that being said, this event happened at the bar area of Rainbow Oaks Restaurant in Fallbrook, California, when the National Anthem came on the television screen and several people stood up for the song.
However, for at least one of the people attending the restaurant at that time, they didn’t get it. In fact, they found it “dangerous.” Yeah… dangerous.
{snip}
“By far the most dangerous situation I’ve ever been in.”
While adding the hashtags “God Bless America,” “Get Out,” “Illegal,” and “White People Things.”
The post racked up a number of comments, more than 20,000 of them to be exact, with a shocking number of the responses being negative. The responses included:
“I worked at mission bbq and they made us do this everyday at noon, I hated it there so much.”
“Girl naurrr I would be sweating.”
“My worst nightmare.”
“Anyone proud of America right now is a walking red flag.”
“Why is nationalism so terrifying.”
“This is so scary.”
“This is lowkey scary as hell.”
“I would’ve started crying … and not of joy but fear.”
“I would’ve left so fast.”
“What the hell is going on.”
“That’s so cultish. I’d never leave a perfectly fine plate of pancakes to sing any national anthem.”
The girl’s original video has been deleted, but here’s another example so you can see for yourself:
Traumatic… isn’t it?
Apparently the national anthem is “frightening” to the people of TikTok…
However, a handful of commenters pointed out that this restaurant is near a military base, and a lot of military families live in the area:
“Fallbrook is near Camp Pendleton, a U.S.M.C. base. There are a LOT of Navy, Marine, & Coast Guard members and family living in the area.”
{snip}
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never been to a lunch spot that played the national anthem before, but if this is the most terrifying scene in America right now, or “your worst nightmare,” this country is doomed. And if people standing in a restaurant is truly the “most dangerous situation you’ve ever been in” then consider yourself lucky.
Most people deal with far, far worse… like… the veterans in that same restaurant who risked their lives so you could be free to have these ridiculous opinions about them standing for the flag.
