The Haven Police Department in Reno County has been directed by the city council to remove “In God We Trust” decals from the police vehicles and to remove Scripture quotes from the police Facebook page.
The motion was passed unanimously during the Monday evening meeting. Council Member Sandra Williams had voiced her concern about the decals and about the Haven Police Department Facebook page having quotes from Scriptures.
She made a motion to remove the decals and quotes which was seconded by Council Member Kylie Rush.
Mayor Adam Wright said the police department has until their next meeting on May 16th to remove the decals and quotes.
